“Emotions Are For Ugly People!”

Hmmm…“Emotions are For ugly people”…I’m not sure I can agree with that! (But remember, it is April Fool’s Day after all!) But concerning Laura’s makeup, well, I must admit that you have a point.

In the beginning, I had wanted to draw Laura as “Practically Perfect” and bad makeup seemed to be the best way to break that perfection!

Once her son, Elliot, was introduced with his red hair and freckles, it became obvious to me that the bad makeup was to conceal her freckles!

Honestly, makeup and glamour perplex me. I just don’t quite get them. Emotions, I get. That other stuff, not so much!

Nevertheless, the next installment of “The Lloyd Servant Show” will reveal Bradeena Martin, wife of televangelist Bradley Martin, now known to hundreds of television viewers as “Lloyd Servant, Your Servant Of The Lloyd.”

PARENTAL ADVISORY: There may be what some would consider “gratuitous cartoon cleavage”! Comic Strip Viewer Discretion Is Advised!

(Remember it is April Fool’s Day, at least here in the U.S.! I think it would be difficult to find this new character rated anything other than “G” maybe “PG-13” at the most!?! You may want to hold off on the protest signs!!!)

  1. Christianity has this love-hate relationship with emotions; on the one hand, feeling guilty and then absolved of sins is good; but they don’t want anyone to be too emotional. I remember how a guy tearing up when giving his testimony make all of the other guys in the room tense up because somehow a crying man was wrong. Women can be emotional all the day long though, that’s expected.

  2. I was reading a book last night and the author said it is wrong to tell Christians they shouldn’t feel sad or upset. He said we have Jesus as our example who cried and was upset and even angry.

  3. Being gay has left me with certain advantages, especially in regards to emotions. I am likely to tear up at a drop of a hat. I am not afraid of my emotions or what is expected me as a man. I can be free to be as sentimental as I want. For that, I am thankful.

    1. Emotions are a good thing. I’m not sure where we got the idea that they are only for some people. (Maybe it was the John Wayne movies?) Emotions seem to be something that, at least in the U.S., boys are trained to hide. (I’ve read that’s related to how boys grow up to become men who go to war, like a John Wayne movie.) I’m glad you are fearless when it comes to emotions, and I wish more guys were that way! (I have a feeling it would make our society better, less prone to violence.) Thanks for sharing!
