This comic strip and the next one will finish up this series. They may add a new dimension to the main character, Laser Eyes Jesus.
So what do you think? Is it possible for someone without a relationship with Jesus to actually be a more faithful friend and kind neighbor than someone with a relationship with Jesus? I have to say I have seen this, and it truly causes me to look at myself and wonder, “What am I doing? How did I get so uncaring?”
I am reminded of all the little kindnesses that are done by people all over the world that no one knows about, at least not to give credit or applause to anyone else: an anonymous envelope with money, a pair of shoes in just the right size that suddenly “turns up,” extra vegetables from the garden in a brown paper bag, a generous portion meal because “Oops! I made too much!”
“But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4 (KJV)
I’ve seen people do good things, people who were a far better neighbor than I have probably ever been, people I was sure could not possibly have a relationship with Jesus and said to myself, “That doesn’t count because it wasn’t done in secret. They aren’t a Christian. They don’t believe in Jesus.” Then I go back to watching television. (That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but you get the point, right?)
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17 (KJV)
The Father’s goodness and love flows on and on, through whomever He wills with the intention, I believe, in bringing us all closer to His Son, Real Life Jesus.
